This one is process notes and a bonus artwork for de Romanus' Slave Boy with Severed Head and Maripor's Self Portrait, or Slave Boy with Severed Head!

These paintings were originally intended to be done collaboratively, like Temptation, but losing the underpainting for the de Romanus put us on the back foot, and [anonymous contributor] was ultimately unable to complete the oil painting in time. Here is the original preliminary sketch:

Like the "real" artwork, everything is vector graphics. I hope you'll forgive me for doing this in Inkscape and not actually Adobe Illustrator version 1! The first pass for color (lower left) was monochrome warm brown, to mimic the process of traditional painting; the second layer (upper left) is highly pigmented "pointilism" to introduce some complexity and variation in tone; the third layer (center) is flat color.

Finally, the piece was run through a CRT filter, resulting in the finished artwork.
